HUNDREDS OF ZOMBIES IN BRISBANE

DPP_0100 Hundreds of the living dead paraded through Brisbane CBD today to raise money for brain research.

The parade started at Wickham Park just after 3pm with bloodied zombies walking, crawling and staggering their way through the city streets.

Some Sunday afternoon shoppers were bemused at the unusual display but most stopped to get a quick snap of the horror movie like scene.DPP_0113

Pro-Palestine activists called for a boycott of Starbucks at a rally held in Brisbane’s CBD recently.

More than 500 protesters marched through city streets and rallied outside the Myer Center Starbucks as speakers called for a public boycott of the international coffee outlet.

As the crowd chanted slogans rally speakers slammed the mega company claiming it was pro-Israel.

Newsbytes contacted the Myer center Starbucks in person and the company’s national representative by phone but both declined to comment.

The protest came after Israeli commandos boarded a flotilla in international waters off Gaza earlier in the week.

Justice for Palestine Organisation Brisbane spokeswoman, Kathyrn Zahran, called for peaceful protest against Israel and said more street rallies and boycotts would be organised until Israel was held accountable for their actions.

The rally marched from Reddacliff Square and attracted more than five hundred people from a variety of ethnic and age groups all condemning Israel’s recent actions.
